On the 28th of March 2025, the Tanzania Medical Students’ Association (TAMSA) hosted the inaugural Iftar Gala Season 1, marking the beginning of what will become a cherished annual tradition. The event, initiated by the TAMSA Vice President for External Affairs (VPE), was first organized through a collaboration between TAMSA KIUT, TAMSA SJCHAS, and TAMSA KAIRUKI. Following its successful execution, it was officially handed over to the Standing Committee on Students’ Affairs (SCOSA) during the gala. Moving forward, SCOSA will ensure that the IFTAR GALA becomes an annual TAMSA tradition, held every year on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadhan, fostering unity, networking, and togetherness among medical students and professionals
The prestigious gathering brought together the TAMSA Executive Board, the TAMSA General Assembly (GA) and International Scientific Conference (ISC) Organizing Committee Executive Leaders, and distinguished guests, with Dr. Frank Arabi, former TAMSA President and esteemed doctor at CCBRT, as the Chief Guest. His presence and inspiring words left a lasting impact on all attendees, emphasizing the importance of community, leadership, and perseverance in the medical field.
The evening was not only a moment for spiritual reflection and bonding but also a platform for major announcements. A significant highlight was the official launch of the TAMSA GA T-shirts, a symbol of the association’s unity and identity as it moves forward in hosting national and international medical events.
